Mince pies


  • 300g plain flour

  • 150 g butter

  • 75g caster sugar

  • 3 eggs

  • Mincemeat

  • Icing sugar to dust

  • you will need a mincepie/jam tart baking tin

  • Circle cutter for base

  • star cutter for top


  1. Heat oven to 180'C

  2. place flour and sugar in bowel and mix

  3. rub butter into flour, add eggs and mix together until mixture binds together

  4. place onto a floured surface

  5. roll out gently and cut 12 circles for bases - place into baking tray

  6. re-roll if necessary and cut out 12 stars for the tops - set aside

  7. Spoon 1 teaspoon of mincemeat into each circle, place star on top

  8. Bake for 12 mins approximately

  9. Once cooked - remove from tin and place on a baking tin before they cool [ it will be easier whilst hot]

  10. When cool - duct with icing sugar and enjoy.
