Oops, that may be a little late, time has flown since our last news update - where did Christmas, New Year, January and February go?!
What have we been up to?....
Don't worry we have been busy as ever in Playgroup.....
We were lucky to have an amazing get together before Christmas for songs, mulled wine and mince pies, welcoming our families back in to join us. We have missed you throughout Covid.
The end of term Party with a visit from Mr Marvel and Father Christmas.
Tiny Tots Dance came to visit - the children really enjoyed joining in and we are looking forward to seeing them again soon.
We've celebrated Chinese New Year, Burns night, February half-term came and went, pancake day and there is still lots more to come.
Fudge and Twinkle our pet Guinea pigs enjoyed being looked after at some of our children's home for Christmas and half term. Don't forget if you would like to look after them during a holiday let us kno
This week we have been cooking Cheesy shapes... the smell inside has been delicious. We hope you have enjoyed eating them too.
Here's the recipe if you want to try at home....
Ingredients
Makes approx 12 shapes
200g Plain Flour
Pinch of salt
pinch of mustard powder
pinch of cayenne powder[optional]
100g butter
150g Mature Red Cheese[grated]
1 medium egg[whisked]
Method
Heat oven to 180'
line a tray with baking parchment
Weigh out ingredients
Put flour, salt, mustard powder and cayenne into a bowl - mix together
Rub butter into flour,
Stir in grated cheese
Add egg, mix and bind together with your hands
Turn out onto a floured surface,
You can either shapes into ball, flatten with your hand a cut our using cutters or make into whichever shape you choose.
Place onto lined baking sheet
Bake for 10-15 minutes.
Allow to cool and enjoy
